About the Doctor
Dr. Irene Strychalski is a board-certified orthodontist in Dunkirk, New York. She specializes in providing orthodontic braces and orthopedic care for children, as well as Invisalign, ceramic and gold braces for teenagers and adults. Dr. Irene also provides oral appliances for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea and temporomandibular disorders.
Dr. Irene obtained a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from SUNY Buffalo School of Dental medicine, where she graduated magna cum laude. She also earned a Master of Science degree and a certificate of proficiency in orthodontics from the institution.
Dr. Irene is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a Fellow of American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists and Pierre Fauchard Academy. She has been a spokesperson for the American Association of Orthodontists and has participated in career fairs, panel discussions, radio shows and magazine interviews. She also co-authored several orthodontic research articles that have been published in national journals.
Dr. Irene is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics, New York State Dental Association, New York State Society of Orthodontists, Eighth District Dental Association, Eighth District Orthodontic Academy, and is a past president of the Chautauqua County Dental Association. She is also a member of the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists, where she served as the first female president.
Dr. Irene currently serves as branch co-president of the American Association of University Women and does volunteer service with the Belarus Children of Chernobyl, Fredonia Opera House’s Bach & Beyond Music Festival, the Rotary Club of Dunkirk, as well as musical programs at senior centers and nursing homes.
She currently resides in Dunkirk with her husband, Dr. James T. Strychalski. They have four daughters.
